Emergency Department
In case of emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
Our Emergency Department at ACMC has eight beds and consists of a major trauma room, three cardiac bays and four treatment rooms. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals in the ED have been specially trained/certified to care for all patients. They are committed to the highest standards of care and provide excellent care to our patients. The ED nurses at ACMC have a caring and compassionate attitude wanting to make your experience in the emergency department as comfortable as possible.
The ACMC Emergency Department is a Level IV Trauma Center. We partner with UAMS to provide life saving measures to stroke patients utilizing telemedicine. We link to a specially trained vascular neurologist via a live, two-way video 24/7 to provide this service. arsaves.uams.edu
ACMC is committed in providing excellence in stroke patient care and was designated by the Arkansas Department of Health as an Arkansas Stroke Ready Hospital in January 2019.
We also partner with ACH burn unit using telemedicine as well. www.archildrens.org
While we treat our patients in order of severity of illness (not first come, first serve basis), all patients can expect a medical screening. Those who don’t require emergency medical treatment will be triage to their Primary Care Physician (Triage-A process for sorting injured people into groups based on their need for or likely benefit from immediate medical treatment).
Your PCP should be your first choice of treatment but if you feel you have a medical emergency and need immediate treatment, our ED is open 24/7 with a physician in house.
The ED nurses at ACMC are caring and compassionate and have chosen to serve you in the ED.
